This was a neat place, the event that happened here was when Gideon gathered an army to fight the Middonites. He gathered a large number of men and the Lord said to him, there are too many, the people will believe it was their own strength that won the battle. 
The Lord told Gideon to have all the men drink from the spring, all those who kneel and lap water like a dog, set to one side, likewise those who lay on the ground and lap water. And those who cup the water in their hand and bring it up to their mouth set on the other side. Those whobrought the water up to their hand were three hundred men. The Lord told Gideon to fight with those 300. Gideon gave them all lanterns, they set them around and attacked at night. The Middonites saw all the lanterns and the men and thought they were out numbered. They surrendered and the battle was over. The people honored the Lord.
It was a pretty little spring and such a warm day. Israel is so beautiful.
I wouldn't really drink from the spring now, but it was fun to pretend.
The wild flowers were so pretty growing in the rock wall that lead to the spring.
It is amazing to imagine all the battles that have happened in this beautiful land and all the history, it is wonderful to be here.

Very cool! It's crazy cus you know all the places in the bible stories are real, but you never think you'll really be able to see them. Love the pics!
