The Dead Sea, Jordan Side

Mt Nebo to the Dead Sea

On the way down Mount Nebo we passed several Bedouin camps, these people don't own a house they live in their tent year around just like others did hundreds of years ago.

We stopped at this resort on the Dead Sea, and ate lunch. All those who wanted to swim or bob in the Dead Sea were given the opportunity--and we took it.

Just before entering the salty water, there were no brine shrimp, and it was not stinky like the Great Salt Lake.

We did need to wear water shoes however, the salt crystals on the bottom of the sea can cut your feet.
It was funny, cause once you were floating, it was hard to put your feet back under you to stand up!!
The T-shirt that Brian wore while bobbing in the sea took days to dry. We finally had to wash it out. It was very heavy and stiff with all the salt in it.
The Jaffa's laughing at us just out in front of them, I'm glad I tried it. We got into the pool for a little while after to try and rinse some salt off of us before the very quick shower in the dressing room. I was also glad we did that. So many people trying to quickly change and get back on the bus.

That looks like fun! Dust said there are lots of Bedoun (however you spell that) camps in Iraq too. Crazy how many things are similar! Of course, I'd rather go to Egypt. Ha ha.
